I have a Wyndham VIP Gold membership that I want to add low-cost contracts to by bidding on E-Bay. I realize this will not get me closer to a Platinum membership, but how do I make sure that the additional points get added to my existing membership account so that I get the same booking and discount privileges that I have with my current points?

Make sure whatever closing company has your Wyndham account number and instruct them to register the transfer with Wyndham under that number.

For my last resale xfer, they told me to fax in a letter requesting to merge the purchase into my existing account, but this was during the transfer process. As soon as the transfer completed I saw the points in my account.

Another time, I did not do this and they set up a new member number for me. It only took a call to get that fixed, but I had no immediate heads up that the transfer had completed.
