We're traveling to Princeton NJ for a week in June and wondered what the "don't miss" sites, attractions and restaurants are. Any help would be appreciated. We'll be there for the USA Special Olympic Games.

Take a day and head to Hamilton NJ (same county just 20 minutes south) and check out:

Grounds for Sculpture
http://www.groundsforsculpture.org

Great sculpture/art garden that is recognized worldwide.

It is the brainchild of Seward Johnson of the Johnson & Johnson family.

June is a great time as they are doing a Seward Johnson Retrospective. They have brought many of his works back from all around the world for this summer's exhibit. His sculptures are all over Washington DC, Philadelphia, Gettysburg, NYC, etc... you have seen his work even if you didn't know it was his.

Check out the website and click on the Facebook link (even if you don't use Facebook as the page is public) and you will see Michael Douglas stopped by this past weekend... and the exhibit just opened.

Also the the restaurant on site is called "Rats" and while expensive, it is fantastic... if you are looking for a treat day... but be sure to make reservations.

All the info is on the website...

In addition to NYC, Philadelphia is about the same travel time on NJ Transit trains( you would have to change in Trenton to SEPTA light rail). Lots to do and see in the historic district.

There is a wonderful art museum on the campus and McCarter Theater as well as Richardson Auditoriums both have wonderful theater and music. As to restaurants...Witherspoon Grill for steaks and burgers that are great, BlueFish for seafood, Soonja's for Korean..Da's in Hopewell for Thai.. And Contes for pizza is the favorite of all of Princeton and is nice and old fashioned too.

Nearby are the towns of Lambertville and New Hope. One in New Jersey and the other in Pennsylvania, divided by a bridge. Great place for antiquing and walking around the lovely shops and restaurants.
