Looking through the exchange options in Interval I can often see the Royal resorts and others in Mexico, most of whom are all inclusive however there is no way of seeing how much the fee is. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Not sure about Royal, but for some of the other resorts if you start the reservation process where you get an 18 minute hold you will see the fees. I've been startled at how much some of the resorts charge per day.

Lisa is correct. If there is a unit available for exchange or Getaway, just click on it as though you're going to book and it will show you the AI fees. You don't have to complete the booking process.

Thanks for the info, just checked the Royal Sands, $99 per day for an adult and $69 for a child! That's a lot considering that on average we could spend $100 a day in the US for lunch and dinner for a family of four and even if I could manage to knock back three bottles of wine or equivalent a day it's still excessive particularly for somewhere like Mexico.

I can see why the resorts like the AI option.

That's one of the cheaper ones! I was looking at a resort in Mexico the other day and it was $140 a day for anyone over 13! Ridiculous that kids that aren't even of drinking age would be the same as an adult.

You have to look at the price but you also have to see what is included in the all inclusives. The AI plans at the Royals are overpriced imo because it really is just a meal and beverage plan. You really aren't getting anything else that isn't already paid for by the owners mf's. Even the food isn't "all inclusive" as they have surcharges on a number of items.

Some AI plans include round trip transportation to the airport, golf (and golf clinics/lessons), daily activities that are a step above games around the pool, like a sunset cruise, afternoon snorkelling by boat, sea kayaks, catamaran s, paddle boards all with lessons/instructions etc. The Royals pay for daily maid service as part of their mf's but not all do and that is part of the ai fees at those resorts. So $100 a person a day can be cheap or expensive depending how "all inclusive" the resort is.

In almost all cases getaways (II) or extra vacations (RCI) work out better for ai's than doing exchanges and even then some are still no bargain.

I believe the royals' includes 24 hr room service, turndown service, a robe, Sunday maid service, and kids club, not just food and drink. Still excessive IMHO.
