Hello I have been asking a lot of questions trying to pull the trigger on a timeshare. I am watching a few timeshares on ebay, my question is if I buy a biennial timeshare which is a 3br lockoff on odd years and I deposit the 2br and 1 br seperate and lets say for arguements sake the 2br gets me a trade power of 30 and the 1br gets me 25. Can I use the 30 this year and then the 25 next year or do I need to use them on odd years only? Thanks for everyones help so far it has been much appreciated.

It makes no difference if you own an "annual" timeshare, or an "every-other-year" timeshare, when you deposit it/them (splitting the unit into a 2-br and a 1-br) with an exchange company. After the deposit, you will have (usually) 2 years from either the deposit date, or check-in (reservation) date, to get your exchanges.

The exchanges can be for the same year, or spread out, timewise. Hopefully, this makes sense to you.

as stated above, the exchange company will not restrict you to odd-years only.

This is just one reason lockoff are popular to own. You have one MF that can result in more TPUs than a non-lockoff unit and you can use the 'extra' TPUs to book more or better exchanges.
