:whoopie:When we returned from vacation, there was a message from Sol Mar stating that they wanted to buy our units. We were offered:
1) stay where we are at Sol Mar Beach Club
2) Move to Playa Grande
3) they would buy us out

We tried to give them back our week 36 last year (RTU - 1 year left) and they would not take it. They gave us $40 for it. We kept our weeks 9 and 10 at Solmar Beach Club. Kerry stated that they started with weeks 1-14 and had a budget that they could spend buying back units. Our weeks 9 and 10 have 8 years remaining and they offered us a little over $800 for each unit.

Had a sale on my week 41. The new transfer fees they initiated chased my buyer away. But they did take it back so no more maintenance fees to them.
Glad to be done with it.

How nice of them to offer a buy back( for the equvalent to one years MF) the prime weeks of the year which they will put into their hotel inventory. I doubt they will even offer to buyback 15-50 as they need the occupancy and the income. The Solmar Group piracy continues.

Buyback,

If they would give you a $1000 a week I would take it and run, depending on if you use them, and are going to use them till the RTU expires. The new transfer fee is outrageous and no private person will buy them if they have to pay the 10% of original sales price as a transfer fee. Say you paid 12-15K for the week, that means no matter how long is left you will pay 10% to transfer the unit. And if you look you can probably find units for rent for not much more than your maintenance fees. :ponder:
