Also, wondering about inexpensive/quiet golf courses on Hilton Head at this time of year? I'm not a golfer, but I do have a set of clubs (I go for a walk, and hit a ball every once in a while and see where it goes). Went 2 times this past year. Wife might ride along and read, or not join me at all. I like playing by myself, in solitude. I know this is not usually possible. Just wondering if there are any recommendations? If not that's ok too!

You might try Shipyard. My husband also likes to play by himself and they are usually able to accommodate him, especially in the slower season. If you're not a serious golfer, right off the Island there are a couple of more 'laid back ' courses, such as Rose Hill or HH National....

Pick up some of the coupon books found almost everywhere on the island. You might find some good golf deals there.
