I've Been getting lots of mail lately about going on's at Ocean Villas 1, Nags Head, NC.
Apparently board members have been doing some volunteer work, while staying at the resort using open weeks. Then they started gifting foreclosed weeks to each other for payment of their VOLUNTEERED time.
Last year they re-elected the treasurer who should have been up for election this year. Sandra Brant, who's husband was given one of the gifted weeks, a 2 bed room, week 36. (usually Labor Day week).
Upset owners gave their proxy vote (more than 50) to another owner who attended the meeting, and was tired of all the shady stuff going on. The board invalidated all of the proxies assigned to this owner. All proxies given to the board member were all validated.
I wish I knew how to attach a pdf file to this message, because they go into much more details about these, and more stories including county deed records.
I hope this all gets worked out, because it seems this will lead to higher fees in the future?
