I heard something new yesterday that I had NEVER heard before from any VC, so I asked them to document it in my (extensive) notes on file. She said - and indicated they had all been trained this way - that as long as the reservations were BOOKED on the same day, a split reservation could be covered after that fact - even many months after the fact - by a single guest confirmation.

I had asked this several times last year and ALWAYS been told it required multiple, that it was only on the day of booking that you could cover with a single guest confirmation. But the VC I spoke assured me that was not the case, and that she encouraged people she talked to to wait until the last minute to add the guest confirmation.

Has anyone else encountered this and successfully added a single guest confirmation to a split reservation days/weeks after the reservation was made?

Goes against years of everything I have been told. I am just happy when they will do a guest override on a reservation book that same day and does not have to be booked by the VC on the same phone call.

I would not count on that whatsoever. I fight tooth and nail for every guest confirmation on my account. My understanding is that the rule is, that the guest confirmation must be added the same day you book the reservation, unit size must be the same, and the reservation cannot be for more than 7 nights total.

My experience has been, that I can get a VC (or sometimes I have to ask for Owner Care) to honor the above rules. Sometimes it is easy, sometimes it is painful. I have it noted in my account, but that doesn't help.

I would not expect to have GC's added to a split reservation after the day of booking. I would love it if that were true, but I think you just got lucky today.

I was told by some VC and owner care that it has to be done on the same day. Although the last VC I talked with told me that I would have to pay the $99 GC fee and $30 res fee. I asked if I just booked them, why am I paying a res fee? She argued so I just went to Owner Care and they told me that as long as they are booked on the same day $99 is all that applies or a GC Credit. I took my $99 and all was well. But both emphasized SAME DAY.

A VC who will not be around much longer ... and the only reason a GC went for $29 to $99 (really, $129) was to make more money for Corporate Wyndham ....
