I too just bought a timeshare in Cabo and was promised easy renting of my weeks to defray the costs. Globequest was seller and VNAC was the rental agency. I just found out that Globequest owns VNAC??? Is this a scam? Isn't it possible that VNAC CAN rent my Cabo weeks out for me, albeit for less than the $4,000 promised for a two-bedroom lock-off on Medano Beach? Please help?
Were you promised that from the timeshare salesperson? If so, that's not surprising since they will tell you
anything, including lies, to get you to purchase over-valued, worthless timeshares.
Rentals are not easy to fetch in Mexico because of the glut of rentals on the market there. Also, since many in Mexico are all-inclusives with exorbitant all-inclusive fees to use them (whether you're the owner, are renting it, or acquired it via exchange), people are staying away from them.
Your best bet, if you're not going to use the week that year, is to try to exchange it.
