Special assessment at Patriot's Place for this year? Got a bill, no info with it!

If there is indeed a special assessment for Patriot's Place, I had no idea. I admit to not reading every single word of every HOA newsletter I received over the last year, so I could have missed something along the way.

How does one even know a random letter with an amount owed is even legit? Anyone can look at county records and acquire our home address and then randomly send a bill to people, and of course we will pay it. It's a PO Box in Detroit, not Williamsburg.

Call the resort and ask. See if they can give you an email address to ask for a letter with more details.

I left a message and hope to hear back soon because this could be a new scam. When we were at Patriot's Place two years ago, I felt it needed some work, so I think it's probably legit.

I know there are a lot of owners at Patriot's Place who are on TUG, so hopefully someone is more in-tune with this SA and knows it's legit.

Didn't PP have a SA not that long ago? SA's seem to be an increasing trend.

Just got a call back from the HOA.

Wyndham went back through all of the records for the special assessment payments in 2008, and they found some people were deficient in their payments, us included. She told me to go back through my records and see if we ever paid that SA payment. Really? I don't keep records dated back to 2008. I don't even know whether I paid a check or CC!

And actually, we bought our Patriot's Place in 2010. I knew Kingsgate and Patriot's Place had SA's at the time and paid all that were billed. Why would I pay for the person who owned before me?

SA is probably to pay for the town homes being built in the middle of patriots place
