We'll be staying in Bonnet Creek for a Disney vacation in a few weeks and I was wondering if any of you who have stayed there have any suggestions or advice for the trip?

In addition to a few days at WDW, we were going to hit a beach (assuming the algae doesn't get there first!). Cocoa Beach was on the radar.

We were also wondering about whether or not the resort shuttle to Disney was viable or if it we would be better off just driving ourselves to the parks.

Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Kids are 15, 14, and 9. It's not our first time to Disney, but it is our first time not staying at a Disney resort.

The BC resort shuttle is $5 per day per person, so if you have a car rented any way, you will probably just want to drive.

Parking is tight. If you come in after dark, just head for the parking garage.

The shuttle to Disney is $8 per person. Parking is $20 if you drive if nobody has an AP. So you just have to iron out the math. I would think that Uber would be the way to go, especially for Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can also hop the monorail to MK so a ride to Epcot would be cheaper.

We were at BC in May...had a blast! We had our the twins, who are 17, and our 10 and 8 year old daughters (Our 15 year old was at a camp that week).

The resort is fantastic!! Honestly, our children wanted to stay at the resort instead of going to the Parks. We were in Tower 5 which has a last river right out the back door. Of course, we were just a very short walk from Tower 6 which has the ship- themed water slide.

We are headed back in March. Instead of 5 days in the Parks we are planning on going to Universal one day. The rest of the time we plan on spending at BC.

Also, check the activities schedule. Our family enjoyed several of the activities in addition to all the pools, mini- golf, etc.

You're going to have a great time!

I'm pretty sure there are no algae blooms at Cocoa Beach. And...it's the closest to WDW, only a little more than an hour drive most days. (and great beach)

If you have a car, you will be much better off driving. We drive everywhere, even when we are staying onsite.

The dining offsite is much better than the food onsite, IMHO. There is a lot more variety, the quality in many cases is better, and of course, it's less expensive. Also easier to get seated -- you just sorta show up and they seat you.

One place I would recommend checking out for dining is Celebration. Lots of good restaurants there, lots of variety -- AND...they have a Kilwin's (chocolate and ice cream to die for)!

Looks like we'll pass.on the shuttle then, we'll have a rental car for the trip so we can just drive ourselves.

Glad to hear the resort has so much to offer, we are considering how many days to go to Disney, the beach, etc. We'll have to add in a resort day!

Thanks! We'll check out Celebration (and Kilwins for sure!)

Looking forward to Cocoa Beach too. We went to Myrlte Beach (Sewatch) last year and spent most of our time at the beach. The kids will enjoy that again too.

We always drive also. Just a quick FYI, unless you have an AP parking is $20 per day at Disney. I'd still drive so you can come and go as you please but in cast the parking would be a factor in your decision.

The 4 bedroom presidentials are very popular there. If you are not staying in one at least try to walk through one to see the difference.

Lots of good onsite activities.

Uber is very cheap and fast. Much faster then taking a tram to your drop off spot and walking to your car. I will be happy if the cars had car seats but I would need two so not sure how reliable that would be.
