If you have a GC on a split reservation, and then during the upgrade window you update that same reservation, does that actually kick out the GC you had in place?

Anyone with any experience on the actual processing the computer does.

No experience, but don't you actually cancel and book the upgraded unit (or am I just thinking of the discount)?

No I am not wanting to cancel first, this is the case where there is a split reservation with a GC that is hoping for an upgrade. But I don't know if the upgrade comes through what happens to the existing GC

If you upgrade the guest certificate will be lost. That happen to me a few years back, not sure if you do the upgrade by phone they might be able to save the GC.

Best to upgrade then add the GC after.

Actually it's not true. When you upgrade the GC remains in place. I just did a split reservation upgrade tonight. Worked just fine. I have done about 50 upgrades of guest confirmation reservations in the past three years. All worked fine with no GC lost.

I'll second that

I do it all the time. You will not lose your GC's, they will stay in place.

Thanks, for the new info the last time I did an upgrade a few years back I lost the GC. Even called customer service, had plenty so just used another one.

I am sure you did not do it the right way. I have probably done over a thousand and while Wyndham has some bugs in their system that has not been one of them.
