My family is planning a large family reunion to Bonnet Creek. We need four rooms. Only my wife and I are owners of record. Can I reserve one room in my name, one in her name, and just buy 2 guest certificates for the other rooms?

Next question: When we click on the box to select the specific owner of record for a reservation it shows 6 different listings because our names are spelled differently on various contracts. For example, one contract lists my wife as Elizabeth and another as Beth. Do you think it would be possible to use these different spellings to book more than two rooms without paying a guest certificate?

Thanks,
Doug

Yes.

Probably. I'm not sure I'd risk it for a major family vacation.

You get one free GC per year, so you should only have to buy one (unless of course you have already used it).

Yes.

I would say Probably NOT. You run the risk that the reservation could be cancelled inside the 15-day mark before you ever get there to try to check in.

IF you are willing to roll the dice and bet that the system logic won't detect "Beth" and "Elizabeth" as the same owner, you could try it, and you can create the required guest certificate on the spot if you have to. But personally, I don't think I'd roll the dice, even though the odds are probably with you.

However, you can volunteer as tribute and may the odds be ever in your favor.

I've always received an email from Wyndham when I had overlapping reservations within thirty days or so of check-in. Sometimes, it took me a few minutes to see where the overlap was but there always was one.

A Wyndham owner relations rep told me that I had reservations cancelled because they were under the same but slightly different names. I think he was just working me but not sure why else they would have been cancelled. It was not worth the fight as I did not 100% need those reservations.
