So back from fishing near Wyndam Fairfield Bay in AK, and I know I don't want to buy a cabin there...wouldn't use it enough. But still excited about Wyndam Points to get me two off weeks for 154,000 points at two different fishing TSs. Following feedback I got here on another thread, I'm looking at 154 K Wyndam Plus points. Fairfield Bay offers 44K point weeks that are fish-able. For the balance, I would be targeting Wyndam Pagosa Springs or Durango. All drive-able from Dallas for me.

I see a SumDay La Belle Maison on Ebay. According to Ron P., "points is points". The MF seem good. But I don't know the point Calendars at Pagosa and Durango yet to know if I can can easily book a June-July week. So maybe you folks can tell me where the holes in my plan are, or generally let me know if this is enough points.

Thanks...Bob

Yes. In their use and At ten months points are points

So unless you need ARP any points will do. So now the issue is to get the most bang for your buck or rather to spend the least initially and then every year for what you want to do

La Belle Maison might be perfect. Mf is reasonable but not so low that bidding goes through the roof like a Bali hai or national harbor or Panama City beach might. however there are buyers that want la belle Maison for the ARP (think Mardi Gras) and they will be willing to bid this up to more than its worth for your purposes

Obviously most people want low MF and good ARP and savvy buyers and sellers know this.

Following is simple example:

A. Gross out lay $2,000

MF $400 for 20 years equals $8,000

Cost per year equals $500

B. Gross outlay $1.00

MF $500 for 20 years equals $10,000

Cost per year equals $500

Ignores time value of money and MF increases

LBM is great for Mardi Gras ARP but that is not one of your objectives.

If one rents a car and parks there(not recommend) then add that $200 and weekly cost is high!

Love Pagosa and all the wild life.
