Has anyone ever been to the Marival Resort in Nuevo Vallarta? We are interested in going next month and I checked on trip advisor and they say they are a timeshare also. If anyone has been there could you let us know if it's worth the 4 star rating. thanks ;)

I have friends who own there and love it. They have taken their grandkids a few times and generally go by themselves at least once each year.

We have been almost every year since we bought in 2008. We loved the Resort & Suites section. Then they built the Residences. They added a beach section to the Resort that was for Residences members only. Kind of rankled the Resort members. Note that Residences is not on the beach, it is a block off.

This past trip we were booked into the Resort and we got a call 2 months prior to our trip. They informed us that the construction would still be happening (the upgrade of some rooms to Platinum level). They offered an upgrade to Residences. We took it because of the fact that several restaurants would be closed and 2 pools.

We really liked the Residences and decided to upgrade our Gold membership to Platinum level. Both the Resort and Residences are all inclusive. $50 per day for adults members at the Resort and $85 per day for Residences. The food at the Residences was really good and they have better liquor there too. May not be worth it if you don't drink.

Kurt (sorry this is probably after you went on your trip)
