I bought a biannual points based Timeshare at Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk in 2011 whilst on my honeymoon. I have never used it and have tried to sell it but no luck as yet. I have recently sent an email informing them that I can no longer afford the maintenance fees and asked if I could deed the property back to them. I mentioned I would stop paying maintenance if I didn't get a reply in the hope that foreclosure costs and debt collection costs in Australia would out way what they would get back if they continued to pursue it. The timeshare is fully paid for and my maintenance fees are up to date. Has anyone had any luck deeding back to Wyndham? Any other help would be appreciated.

Welcome to TUG!

There a section here called "Bargain Deals" -- giveaway timeshares. If you want it GONE offer to pay the closing costs and transfer fee ($299). Your POST under that thread is FREE and there is a common transfer company (just another TUG poster of LTT - Lisa) who usually charges under $200 for the paperwork and recording fees.

You stated it is paid for and you would have to have MFs current in order to transfer the deed.

Good luck!

Thanks. I have advertised in the "for sale" section. I couldn't work out how to advertise in the "Bargain Basement" section. Any Ideas?

From the posts here it appears that Wyndham has never even been able to do any thing against Canadians who refuse to pay, why would they be able to do anything in Oz? But yeah, try giving it away first.
