Anyone know if the shuttle from the airport to the Grand Luxxe, NV can be ordered with a car seat for an infant?

And do they have a pack-n-play you can request for the room?

Just trying to figure things out (we have time, we don't go until January).
Just easier if we don't have to take a car seat on the plane, or pack the pack-n-play (it's not exactly "packable" on the airplane).

Shuttle vans will not have car seats. When our family started going with us to Mexico for Thanksgiving, our grandson was 9 months old, even the big stroller was a hassle to put into a trunk (taxis want you to get in and out quickly). The stroller was also difficult to roll around on the cobblestone streets and the sidewalks & curbs are really tricky except at the Malecon. If you want to use a car seat in a taxi, just remember that once you get out, you will have to carry it everywhere you go. Taxis are small and many do not have seatbelts in the back where you can attach a car seat. Our daughter-in-law was apprehensive at first, but was glad that we did not take one. After the first year, she did not even mention it or think about it. I know they are required and safer here in the USA, but they are not required in Mexico. When my kids were small, many cars did not have seat belts and if they did, they were just lap belts and no one had car seats that were safe.

We were able to get a crib at the Grand Mayan when we had a 13 month old with us in 2008. It was a wooden port-a-crib.

If the shuttle does not have car seats I would bring one. Personally I am not comfortable driving in a car anywhere without children in car seats! There is a stroller made that converts to a car seat. My children used it when traveling with my grandson when he was younger.

Phyllis I do not know how old your children are but in NYS car seats were required when my 35+ yr old children were young!

Thanks Phyllis. It was more for the car seat for just the GM provided Shuttle from the airport to the resort. I suppose I can always email the concierge.

When we were at Riveria Maya last year at Grand Luxxe, we got a pack-n-play that they furnished (not wooden crib), although my nephew was like 2 (3' tall, he's large for his age) so my sister didn't think a car seat was necessary, but this time there will be a 7 month old. I don't think they'll be taking any taxis, etc. with the infant once we're there (lots of relatives to watch the kids).

But maybe things have changed.
I had a taxi ride from PDC to the GM Riveria Maya like 4 years ago that was hair raising. Seat belts didn't work (I should've checked first), the driver was passing on the right-emergency lane, we get to the one (maybe 2 back then) stop lights and he sees another cab driver and gives him the "I'm looking at you" and we proceeded to do 80 the rest of the way back.

Yowza (and I've had cab rides in NYC and India, so I've had some hair raising rides).
