Hi all,

We just bought tickets to the Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire concert at Virginia Beach on September 5th. While we could stay at a hotel somewhere or even drive home, I saw a Labor Day week available checking in on September 4th at the Atrium Resort and went ahead and grabbed it.

In looking at the reviews, the latest was in 2010 and I was wondering if any one has been there since it was renovated. In theory, if the renovation started in 2010, you would think it is now complete... Any recent visitors?

Thanks,
Paul

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
Have not been there lately but I have stayed there. It is my least preferred VB resort. If you don't plan on spending time other than sleeping and it is all you can get I would take it. If you booked through II, I would spring for the eplus and try to upgrade to one of the others if it becomes available.

Atrium rooms are small. No balconies. Not a lot of light even from windows in most units. I definitely would not try to go up to capacity with all adults.

Thanks for the reply. It will just be my wife and I , so I figured 3 or 4 nights there will be okay. Despite living in VA, we rarely go to VA Beach, as we much prefer Hilton Head or OBX.

My take is it is an old resort with at least some upgrades. It is probably a better deal than 3 nights in a hotel though.

Maybe some one in TUG has been there more recently and can comment more on any updates.

Thanks again,

Paul

We went there last summer (2014). It was ok but there was no balcony and not a lot of light in the room. Kitchen was small but functionnal. Pool is in the middle so it fan be noisy.

We didn't see any renovation in course last summer.

P.S. Sorry for my English, I'm a French Canadian
