I've read thread after thread and advice article after advice article and I'm very grateful for tug. The information here is priceless. I'm (hopefully after 4 mos of wyndham games) in the final stages of acquiring 2 contracts both eoy one odd one even. I've tried to understand the credit pool and wondering if I would be better off starting 2017 by pooling my odd year. Then pooling every year so I could accumulate the 5-20k in points I won't use. Looking at wyndam directory it appears after my yearly vacation of choice I'll have 5-20k remaining. I'd rather not even deal with rci for a while until i learn to manipulate wyndham system the best I can for what i have. If I did that would I be able to use them in 2017 thus leaving the residual hanging for 3 yrs and accumulating for a cheap bonus get away?
My contracts are (not sure it matters) 168k odd Bonnet creek 154k even Branson and thanks to tug I got them free just taking over the monthly hostage fee.

Unless there is an arp reservation you are looking forward to I would credit pool the 2017 points to avoid the end of the year surplus problem you describe

I would wait to pool 2017 until as late as possible before you need them, but before 12/31/16.

If you still have credits in the EOY-even, you'll probably need to drop them into RCI unless you are able to use them up by the end of the use year.
