For the second time this week I rented points for a short term res and was charged $10 per thousand instead of $8 per thousand. The first time I called a VC who after a lengthy hold arranged for someone in webservises and the financial office to refund the difference. Now I have to call again for a second reservation. Anyone else notice this?

When you say short term do you mean in the "express reservation" window?
In the standard reservation window it's $10

I just checked and you are correct. When you try to make a reservation in the express window, and you don't have enough points. You can borrow or rent. The online system now says the cost to rent is $10 per 1000 points. Both the latest directory and the online education system say the cost to rent points in the express window is $8 per 1000 point when you you do it online and $10 if you call in.

Either this is an undocumented change in the system rules. Or the website is bad. You mentioned you were able to get a refund, so maybe the website is just wrong. Or it is something they are about to change, and the web guys jumped the gun.

We are overdue for a new directory. It wouldn't surprise me that this is the new rate, and that Wyndham is just refunding the difference for those who question it until they post the new directory online.

I agree, if the online rate was going to $10 the call in rate should have gone to $12. Besides, if you look at all the online documentation, it says $8 and $10

Thank you for validating my concern and double checking the documentation. I just called and will be recieving a second refund because as of Saturday the Website was still charging $10/1K. The VC did however tell me this time that her supervisor said that sinnce it has happened to me twice that I can get the $8/1000 rate by speaking to a VC rather than jump through hoops to be refunded the difference after the fact.

Online still charging $10/K as of 8PM 4/18

I too needed a few extra ONLINE Rental Points to complete a reservation within the next 60 days.

The ONLINE system was gonna charge me $10/K instead of the $8/K advertised online rate.

I shuffled my existing reservations to find the few points I needed to complete the transaction without renting other points.

Sure hope this is an 'online computer glitch' -- Not the harbinger of a new price increase .... unless they bring back owner-to-owner point transfers!
What a dreamer I am.
