Hi,
I have 99,000 points left that I probably wont use this year. Is it worth depositing the points to RCI? Any other ideas?....thanks, Dan

Sure - as you can deposit more points next year and they automatically combine together.

If you are thinking you will be point short of any exchange you might need - do the famous, book a Wyndham vacation using 105K points , rent the 6K of points for $8 per 1K, cancel the reservation and then deposit the 105K Wyndham points into RCI. Do all in one day - use only 1 RT.

Question

Thanks Linda - Is there a reason that you mention 105,000 as apposed to 99,000. Is that some sort of threshold?

105,000 just happens to be the point cost of some nice Wyndham resorts for one week. You DID post in the Wyndham forum.

99K is an odd number for an exchange booking using Wyndham points. Reference the Member's Directory on RCI Exchanges -

A 1bdr in Quiet Season requires 109,000 & in Value Season 140,000

A Studio Quiet Season requires 74,000 & in Value Season 95,000 ...

I have seen exchanges at 105K for a 1bdr in the lesser seasons ...but looking at the exchange info (page 281 in the 2013-2014 member Directory) ... that 105K should be raised up to 109K.

If you were a GOLD or PLATINUM Owner -- just deposit the balance and when you make an exchange, it will ADD points automatically off your Wyndham member account - out of the current use year -- inbound exchange date can be in the next use year or the current use year.

For Example - I was booking RCI Exchanges on Saturday - week 1, I had enough points between deposits and on my Wyndham Member ID. Week 2, I did NOT have enough 2014 or 2015 points... so I booked a regular Wyndham vacation, rented points to complete the reservation, cancelled the reservations and then booked my second RCI exchange with directly pull the needed points out of my Wyndham account. So, I have a little change of 1,100 points left in my Wyndham Member account -- worth about $6.60 ....
