Has anyone done business or heard anything good or bad about Timeshare Relief or timesharerelief.com. I am contemplating giving up a timeshare because of the difficulties in selling them. I'm committed to the points system and I have a fixed week in Hilton Head that I intend to keep. Let me know what you have heard. I am conducting some investigation. They have offered to take my unwanted timeshare for no fee or no payment to me. I just want to be sure that that happens because I've been burned on a timeshare company selling me a property and supposedly using my timeshare as a down payment. Months later I got a bill for my maintainance fees. I do no want a repeat. Thanks in advance for any help.

Besides their upfront fees, the major risk with a company like this is that they won't transfer the deed out of your name until they sell it, which means you will be on the hook for all fees until they sell it.

If you have a week that they are willing to take for free (and I bet that there will be fees) that means that it has a resale value and you could sell it or give it away yourself - for free! In other words, if they will actually take it for free, that means they can sell it for a profit.

Please consider giving it away to a private individual who can use it, before you spend a cent with a company like this.

There are two places on TUG where you can give away your TS's for free (no charge for the Ads.) There are other cheap and free sites on the internet, as well.

TUG Marketplace - the only cost is your TUG membership - $15 (List it for $1 and it will automatically go in the Bargain Basement Ads.)

Bargain Deals - Totally FREE! - just write a simple post with all the pertinent info. In your post, include the following info.:
-resort name
-unit size
-season owned
-maintenance fee
-current reservations

To make it more attractive I would:

1) Pay 2010 (and possibly 2011) maintenance fees and don't ask for reimbursement.

2) Pay for the title transfer (you can get a simple professional transfer for about $100) I've used this licensed document Prep. company and the owner is a Tugger. - Note, this is my personal recommendation, not as a representative of TUG.

3) Reserve a popular holiday week in 2010 or 2011 for the new owner

Good luck!
