I'm not looking to sell, but am curious to know the cost of selling a timeshare on E-bay. For simplicity, let's say the TS usually fetches around $4,000 on E-bay. How much would it cost to sell this TS?

Is it best to use one of the companies that put up 100s of timeshares or just go it alone by yourself?

Please educate me.

$35 to list $35 if sold for $ 70 regardless of selling price

PLUS Extras for additional images, bolding and "featured"

The companies listing 100's are not commissioned agents, they are selling inventory that the original purchasers have paid thousands for them to take over "ownership"

In reality their ownership is in a temporary form "Power of Attorney" which they use to try to flip at any price to transfer the maintenance fee liability through eBay

Thank you. How much would you pay for all of the extras? Does it look pretty like the big company ads?

Not necessarily...

That is the case in many (maybe even most) instances, but certainly not all. Some groups (Donate for a Cause, to cite just one specific example) already have the deed in their own name before putting the "dump it" listing up on eBay.

For the record, I have no affiliation with (nor, in fact, any particular use for) DFAC and /or Resort Closings, Inc. (it's the same people in both). I just wanted to point out that not all PCC's (and the DFAC model is now actually very much like most other PCC's in the "pay up front" sense) utilize the Power of Attorney approach, in which the deed remains in the original owner's name while the unwanted timeshare is being "peddled".

Listing on Ebay

Asia,

I list for a couple different companies on ebay. There is a $35 fee to list the property (regardless if it sells or not) and then there is a fee based on the final value, which is generally another $35. Adding pictures costs $0.10 per picture and if you have a reserve there is another fee (around $5 I believe).

It is true for "most of the cases" but there are exceptions.
Those big name sellers on Ebay also offer the broker service, they ask at least 30% commission from selling price and also require in-house closing service (another profit for them).

I would never sell a TS on ebay - the fees are high, and that is where you find the lowest selling prices.
