I'm an IDIOT . . .I've been meaning to trade my 2008 week for points for the last couple weeks and with the holidays . . . well . . . no excuses. It didn't get done and here it is 1-1-2009. I realized it at about 12:30 am. I'M SO UPSET . . .

Am I screwed?

There is always an exxception to the rule

It never hurts to call an ask for an exception to trade for points.

The first time I turned in my Barony Beach summer week for points, I didn't realize that 1) I was not supposed to reserve a week, and 2) I had to make the request prior to Dec 31. When I called owner services and pleaded my case (i.e. ignorance) they were more than willing to take my summer Barony week back and gave me the points...I still had to pay the $104+ fee.

Best of Luck to you .. but I would still call and give it a try..the worst that can happen is that they will say no.

If you can't trade for the points then pick out and reserve the most desirable week. Maybe you will then be able to generate some $$$$ by renting that week and using those funds to buy your points directly from Marriott.

Just another way to maybe get to the piece of cheese......

Thanks . . . I had a hard time falling asleep last night, cause I was so mad at myself. . .

I just tried calling Owner Services and of course they are off today. I guess I will try to plead my case tomorrow.

Wish me luck . . . :(

Renting a week these days seems to be a problem. I've tried to rent my Beachplace President's week studio and a Spring Break studio on Ebay with almost no bids, or anywhere near my $995 reserve...first time that's ever happened and I think it's the economy. Never had a prob getting that reserve price over the last 4 years.

You can still buy 50,000 pts today, but it will count as your 2009 limit...but spouse can buy some too. Good luck with your call/plea. :)

Good news - according to the MVC website to-day, you now have until January 9 to deposit your week for points!
