I see Phoenix is chilly this time of year. Which Marriott resorts are warm this time of year and you can trade into? Exclude Hawaii and foreign locations.

I've got family in Orlando right now at Marriott's Cypress Harbour and Grande Vista and it's been pretty warm this past week - low 80's. Today is cool - mid 60's. But it's supposed to warm up again.

I would think the further south you go, the warmer it would get. So Marriott's Ocean Pointe and Doral in Miami should be even warmer.

Depends on your definition of warm.... I know how cold it can be in North Dakota. We went to Orlando over Thanksgiving and it was pretty cold for my standards. In the 50s some days. It warmed up more towards the end of the trip. I was hoping to go swimming but it wasn't warm enough for me. Anyways... I agree anywhere South will be warmer even San Diego, Houston, etc... Just go knowing that it might not be super hot. I know one year we did Thanksgiving at Newport Beach and it was warm the entire week. In the upper 80s...almost 90s. It was great but don't expect that every year.

check II weather tab

Your best bet for warmth in the continental US for Jan / Feb is southern Florida. Therefore..Ocean Pointe, Crystal Shores in Marco Island, Villas of Doral in Miami should be your best bets for Marriott resorts. The desert resorts are much colder during Jan and Feb but are good alternatives to Florida in late March early April.

I often check out resorts and look at average temperatures using the II website. In Interval International you can check the monthly average temperature for each resort ... check resort directory, select a resort and select the weather tab and the average high and low temps for each month of the year is displayed. You can also go to weather.com and look-up historical averages for a region. These are only averages, but the variation of high to low for each day/month also provides a good indicator of the temps you will experience.

Heat wave

:whoopie: Right now at 7:00pm the temperature is 0 F. We like Phoenix and I lived their for a number of years. My problem is when we travel in the winter we want to be someplace warm. So, we have been thinking about either buying a Marriott resale week in Florida or trading our CV in on a Marriott Florida resort before the end of the year. The other option I suppose would be to trade CV for a Florida resort. This should be easy except we would need week 51 or 52 because of children and school. Thoughts?

Thanks,

I echo South Florida....Fort Lauderdale and south. How about Key West? No Marriotts but a couple of nice Hyatts!

If you want warm and Marriott timeshare in continental US I would say Ocean point is best bet. Orlando can be warm but unreliable in December.

However, if you are going to fly than outside US the most consistent warm weather would be Aruba and than maybe Cancun and St Thomas

I'll be in Aruba January 24th. I'll be sure to post the weather report. Or, I can take a stab at it now; Sunny, windy, 82 degrees.

Central Florida is typically low 50s at night and low 70s during day this time of year. South Florida is typically low 60s at night and high 70s during day.

We were just in Palm Desert the week of December 7 and the weather was beautiful! Mostly in the 70's and warm enough to swim many days, although toward the end of the week it got cold, highs in the 60's. Then a winter storm moved in just as we left and the highs have only been in the 50's and 60's. In California weather is never a guarantee even in the desert.

Warm weather

A few years ago I had the same question and did quite a bit of research. The only place (US only) that you can almost guarantee warm weather in Jan. & Feb. is HI. My question rose after I left and returned from a cruise in 45 degrees in Miami in Jan.

My "warm" was a temperature I could walk around in shorts and lay out by the pool without feeling cold. I recently checked some airfare and found some cheap fares to HI, $458 RT from Kansas City to Maui. Those were in Jan. & Feb. 2009 on American.

Good luck!!

No need to go to HI. Come here.
