Looks like our first day in NYC is going to be a rainy one. Can anyone give me a good suggestion for lunch between Penn Station and the Manhattan Club.
It is four older women (my sisters) on an old ladies weekend. Looking for any ideas - was wondering how expensive a taxi might be to Chelsea Market - that looks nice.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Sorry I'm responding late. Hope you're still in NYC. One of my standard suggestion for that area is a little know gem...the food court in the lower level of the Plaza Hotel. Enter on 59th St. between 5th and 6th Ave. This is no ordinary food court! This has some of the most sought after foods in NYC under one roof...Luke's Lobster, Todd English food court and many other specialty food vendors. There is something for everyone!
Enjoy. Brian

If you're in Chelsea, please go to "Eataly" right across from the Flat Iron bldg.

Part Italian groceria, part gelatoria, restaurants, espresso bar..... everything !

Good, authentic Italian food. Don't go at the height of lunch time.
