I was looking at a listing yesterday. I feel I have a good understand of the wyndham points system as I have read over all of the stickies in this forum for Wyndham. I am just confused because the listing says nothing about the resort being affiliated with Club Wyndham Plus. If I bought at this resort would I be able to use the points at any of the other Club Wyndham Plus resorts?

You don't mention which resort. Did the ad give a resort name or say Club Wyndham Access? Or you could provide a link to the specific ad.

Run! $612 MF for 84K annual points is larceny!

CWA which allows booking at around 70 Wyndham resorts would be about $470.

But, 84K CWA points really are not going to get a week in prime time where ARP is required.

Run faster!

Aside from the aforementioned disadvantages to buying this specific contract, if you are buying any Wyndham points, those points are Club Wyndham Plus by default. It is hit or miss if the seller mentions CWP, but it really does not matter.

Deeded resort deeds get ARP at that resort only (Myrtle Beach and some Hawaii properties being some exceptions); Club Wyndham Access points have ARP at resorts that have CWA inventory. At 10 months, CWP and CWA spend the same anywhere in the system.

From the Wyndham Online Learning center:

Your CLUB WYNDHAM Plus points are your “currency” and are used to establish value for seasons, unit sizes and resort locations. Your points are consumed as you vacation at your resorts or participate in many other exciting vacation options available to CLUB WYNDHAM Plus Members.
CLUB WYNDHAM Plus includes three (3) products, each with unique attributes that appeal to different types of owners.

Thanks everyone! Here is a link (hope it works) to the ebay listing I was referencing. I ended up not bidding on it since I was unclear on exactly what I would have been getting. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wyndham-Nas...e-/181482549191?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

As I could see it did not mention anything about CWA, so it looks like it was a CWP resort...which leads to another question!

Once a resort is designated as a CWP resort, will wyndham owners that bought resale points always have access to the resort? Hope this question makes sense, if not let me know and I will try to explain in more detail what I mean. Thanks!

Are you currently a Wyndham owner or is this your first venture into the system? Either way, you should re-read my previous post.

Resorts do not need to be designated CWP. ALL resorts with points (whether UDI or converted weeks) are CWP. You seem to be confusing this foundational status with CWA, which is a subset of CWP that IS limited to specific resorts (and to specific inventory within those resorts).

The distinction is ONLY important for booking in the 10-13 month window, called the Advance Reservation Priority Window. Once inside 10 months, "points are points" and can be used at ANY Wyndham resort, provided you have enough points to make a reservation. It also does not matter whether your points were bought retail or resale. They "spend" the exact same way.

If this is still not clear, download a directory from the links in the Wyndham stickies and study it a few times over. Don't be discouraged, even old timers pick up some new twist that they may not have noticed before.

The things that might clear things up for the op

1)Club Wyndham Access is a subset of Club Wyndham Plus (the other two possibilities are Club Wyndham Select and Presidential)
2)from ten months before check in, up until until check in, points are points.

It doesnt matter what kind of Club Wyndham Plus points you have or whether or not you bought them from Wyndham or on the secondary market...The price you paid may be different and the mf may be different, but they all work the same,
