Thinking about going to Smugglers Notch in the Fall. Plenty of weeks available on RCI... I do not own at Smuggs and am not a Wyndham owner.

Two definitive resorts on RCI:
Mountain Estates #7576
Smugglers Notch #0300
Both Gold Crowns.

The Mountain Estates (ME) is the listing that has been there for years and the web link is: www.smuggs.com

The Smugglers Notch (SN) #0300 is a new link and the web link is:
www.smuggs.com/rci

ME has only 18 choices but SN has 203 choices. So we'll probably have to go with the SN. Their 2BR sizes range from 6 (2) to 10 (8). TPU's are 10-15.

Other than going for the largest unit possible, any other issues I need to know about? Any difference in Check-in Days? We tend to stay in the units more than other people.

It is just my husband and I traveling and technically we are using it as a jump-off for Montreal. Do they still sponsor day trips or do we need to go on our own?

Thanks.

The Mountain Estates (7576) are all newer, and in general larger. They are predominately fractionals where owners have 3-13 weeks in the units vs the 1-2 that owners at Smugglers Notch have. At Smugglers Notch (0300) you could get confirmed into an older unit in the village considered standard if booked through Smuggs or one of the new hill community units which if you were booking through Smuggs would be considered premium. All of the Estates units are considered premium. The Estates are in Eagles, Kestrels, Owls, Falcons and Trailside Highlands buildings.

This discussion from 2008 explains the difference.
