This is just a generic question. What is the main difference(s) between:

*Block Island
*Martha's Vineyard
*Nantucket

They all are 3-season resorts with places to rent, things to do and sights to see. Why would you go to one over another?

Is it high-end vs low-end? Or are they equally okay, but your family traditions say you go to one over the others?

Just curious. People always talk about MV and Nantucket, but you don't see much about Block Island.

Thanks.

Block Island is undeveloped when compared to the other 2.

The only things I can quickly think of that BI offers is a RI State Beach, hiking/biking, charter fishing, water related activities and ............

The busy season at BI is from late June to Labor Day. Main St is less than a ¼ mile long. It wakes up in May and June and goes to sleep after September.

When I was sailing, I always went to BI because it was a fun place to be. Easy to get around and great bars :D.

BI is certainly not high-end like the others, but I wouldn't call it low end.
