Hey all,
First post :whoopie:

I'm new to the forums and exchanging and i have some questions i hope you guys could answer.
I have week 13 at Sheraton Vistana Villages - Key West in Orlando, Fl (2-bedroom lock off villa). I currently exchange at II but was looking into RCI. I'm a huge Disney fan and would love to stay at DVC properties.
My questions are: how difficult is it to stay at a DVC property? Would the week i have be enough to exchange for a DVC property during an off-peak Disney season? what is regional block (and would it prevent me from exchanging for DVC)? and what is the difference between RCI points vs RCI weeks (and which should i look into)?

Thanks!

You can't exchange an Orlando resort for DVC - there is a regional block with RCI.

It won't help you with DVC, but you also can exchange with Starwood, if that interests you.

I mean using Staroptions to make Starwood timeshare reservations.

gotcha, but i'm limited to only starwood vacation network properties correct?

i think i am able to stay at swan and dolphin if i convert to star points. I could be wrong though, any insight?

You can use Starpoints at Starwood hotels, but you won't get very many points. So maybe a few nights, compared to a full week in your timeshare.

It looks like rates start at 10,000 Starpoints a night for the smallest rooms - you have to call for the larger rooms. You may do better with cash + points.

BTW: I think you have about 55,000 Starpoints, and you can research your options at www.spg.com
