Hi Tuggers,I have a timeshare at Holly Tree on Cape Cod. Wondering how the resort is during the storms? I know they closed for a few weeks (January& February) also have an exchange into Brewster Green in April, hoping the snow is melted by then. Anyone on vacation in New England now?
I used to live in Boston, but never endured weather like you are having now!Stay Safe!

I am not there now, but I know from our timeshare group that people are loving the skiing in Vermont! Don't know about the Cape, though. Totally different environment!

I haven't been going far from home and have had few days without shoveling snow. This is not really my time of year to vacation.

Here in the Hudson Valley NY my husband has been spending most weekends and some evenings shoveling and snow blowing- digging out the mailbox, clearing the wood pile, deck and and pathways, etc. Haven't even touched the roof or icicles yet. Just went over our snowplow budget for our 700 foot driveway for the season. More on the way tomorrow! Fun!

Of course, one has to experience -10 to -25 degrees with a fair window blowing with YOU riding a ski lift 60 feet in the air up the side of a mountain on the shade side of the hill and ask yourself.... "am I nuts or WHAT?"

PS I spent many winter vacations 90+ miles NORTH of Montreal skiing in January at Mont Trembant .... drinking was not encouraged as my roommate one trip almost lost 6 or 7 of her fingers to due one day's exposure to -20 degree temperature and poor ski gloves. Permanent damage.

PSS I also knew enough French to pass as a English speaker living in Montreal and my car was always cover in salt & ice to not be able to read my license.

A little OT - we're going to the Harris Hill ski jump in VT tomorrow - to watch, not to jump :D - this is the first year in memory that the ground won't be a muddy mess. As long as the wind isn't like today (wind chill was 25 below when I got up) the jumps should go on. Might as well go out and enjoy the spectacle - these are world-class ski jumpers.

We are at Trapp right now. Stowe has enough snow, but not as much as we left at home. Word is the downhill skiing is fantastic.

The problem was today, with below zero temps and wind chill to minus 20. We waited until 1pm to ski and didn't do much of that. Wife got too cold. She went to the indoor pool and had a great lap swim.

Snow is deep, deep, deep here in Maine! Feels like we have little tunnels to walk! We start school vacation week tomorrow. I checked in to Trade Winds in Rockland, ME tonight for a week's stay. We're going to get through the weekend blizzard, and then head to the Camden Snow Bowl to ski. My home resort in NH has been working hard to find places to put all the snow, but they are located close to ski country, so have been fairly full as winter goes.
