It wasn't a hurricane. Just a lot of rain from another weather system. The hurricane itself went well out to sea near Bermuda. The moisture outflow from the hurricane did serve to enhance the amount of rainfall SC received, but the hurricane itself never came closer than about 600-800 miles from the SC coast.

What there any water damage to the beach, the sand dunes, surrounding roads or highways near the resort ?

Just left Ocean Watch today and everything there is fine, including the beach. Farther north, south and inland didn't fair so well. Surrounding areas, at least those close by, are in good shape. We stayed in Sunday when the rains were torrential so not really sure what it was like. The resort appeared fine even then, except for the loss of satellite tv.

We are heading there the week of Oct. 18th and were concerned about the roads leading into the area. The news mentioned the potential of the flooding from Columbia heading down to the coast.
