I was contacted today by Copeland Marketing about selling our timeshare. They claim they could sell our timeshare within 1 week to four monthes. If the timeshare isn't sold within 30 days, they claim we will get a voucher for an 8 day/7 night trip to the Bahamas. They require $400 up front. Are they a scam?

If they require that much upfront money, I'd say they were a scam. Don't fall for it.

I was also contacted by them a few months ago and did some research on them a found them to be a bad company(scam). I sold my Westgate timeshare through another TS reseller. They charged $695, but that did include the closing. Always check everyone out at the Better Busniess Bureau(BBB.ORG). The one thing I learned about this whole process is that PRICING your timeshare right is the key to selling it!! I hope this helps. Robert:banana:

Brand new registration. Just happens to make a first post shortly after registering that just happens to praise an up-front resale site and conveniently provides a link to site and a mention of BBB reference (as if a BBB rating actually meant anything.)

Sniff … sniff. Do I smell a possible shill???

TR, You are dead on with your assumption. Nobody sells anything with an upfront fee company, especially a Westgate property (their ROFR game, etc).

I am actually suprised we don't see more of these scammers posting here. If you browse redweek forums, etc they are riddled with the BS.
