First Right of Refusal

How do we know what this magic number is for the various resorts that practice this? Hate to waste my time going thru the buying process, only for this to happen. Thanks.

There is no way to know. That's part of the problem.

Easy statement. Avoid ANY resort/system that has a valid ROFR (many CLAIM to have it but don't - a true sign as to who actually benefits from it and, hint, it is NOT you the owner/buyer/seller) no matter what the name or quality, etc. There are way too many out there that are equal or better, don't have all the hassles & downsides to ROFR which usually also brings along with it near 100% developer/management control - another thing to absolutely avoid as an owner of any timeshare, so just say "NO" to any sale that has tied to it a ROFR clause. You will be much more satisfied as an owner in the long run with that extremely simple rule to follow.

currently, several brokers and owners reported that Hilton, Club Intrawest, Marriott and Starwood are exercising ROFR. Some owners mentioned price in thread, so you can go to forum and search.
There are also reputable brokers for each high-end system, and they have the most recent ROFR info, so you can contact & ask them.
