I have 3 weeks I'd like to rent [specifics deleted.] We've owned here for 16 years and in the past I've used the resort management company to rent out units (RAL) but haven't had much success in the past few years.

I have listed the week 6 and one of the week 7s (in same unit) on TUG. I still need to list the 2nd week 7. Should I also list on redweek or is it not recommended to duplicate listings? Should I also try to list with RAL (in addition to the other 2)? If something rents, I would cancel the other ad and the RAL contract (I am able to do this as long as they haven't rented it).

We can't use these weeks this year and I already have 3 weeks on deposit with RCI, so I REALLY want to rent these out! Thanks for any suggestions.

Because of the economy, the market is flooded with low-cost rentals, and travel is down. To have the best shot at renting you need to have a lot of traffic, and you need to price your rentals just a tad lower than the competition.

I personally use these cheap or free websites to post my Ads:

TUG Timeshare Marketplace - http://tug2.com/timesharemarketplace/
1 year Membership - $15
Ads - free up to 25

www.craigslist.org (free)

www.redweek.com
Membership - $14.99 for 12 months
Timeshare Rental Ads - $24.99/ea for 6 Months
Timeshare Resale Ads - $59.99/ea for 12 Months

www.myresortnetwork.com
Membership - free
Timeshare Rental Ads - $19.95 ($24.95 - floating weeks)
Timeshare Resale Ads - $34.95

There is also a list of resale websites at the top of the Buying, Selling, Renting, board that you may want to take a look at.

Denise,
I just wanted to thank you for your advice. I listed the weeks I want to rent out on TUG, Redweek and with RAL (our resort management company). I decided to wait on myresortnetwork for a bit, but will go with them next time.

As of today, it looks like the 2 weeks (back to back) in same unit - are RENTED - through TUG!!!! So far, it's been a good experience and we've agreed on a price and will send a contract next week (I've read up on this on TUG too). The only responses on Redweek have been a company (I didn't respond) and nothing from RAL. I still need to list my 3rd week on TUG. I have had one other inquiry on TUG too.

Once I have the contract and deposit check has cleared, I will mark the ad as rented. I do wish there was a way for me to leave a reply message on TUG to those who respond to the ad - when I click on their email it goes to Outlook and I can't seem to get that to work. Am I missing something (as in a way to leave a reply message)?

Thanks again for your help - I feel very confident that this is going to work out!
