I have a reservation for a week in May at Wyndham Old Town Alexandria (DC area). However I may be changing jobs around that time so I need to reschedule. Right now there is availability the last two weeks of September and it's wide open in October.

Question: if it were you, would you choose (weather-wise or other) to go to DC in late-September or mid-October?

Thanks in advance!

Late Sept or first 2 weeks of October were my favorites when I lived there.

Late Sept early Oct can be anybody's guess. I've seen it really hot during that time and also cool. Same as late Oct (Halloween timeframe). Seen it where kids needed winter coats and seen it when it's been much warmer.

Sorry can't give you a definitive answer, but it really varies.

Nancy

ps. If it was me, I'd come in Sept etc. because may not have as many school kids touring.

Nancy is right about the kids, but I'd still go for October because the humidity will be gone and you will be there when the leaves are changing. DC is beautiful any time of year, but spring and fall are the most beautiful.

Another vote for mid to late October. Chance of better weather and the fall foliage will be close to peak colors.
