I have a choice of two resorts on HHI and was wondering if anyone could advise me on which to choose. first time on HHI.
Choice is:
A two bed unit at Palmetto Dunes

A one bed unit at Cottages at Shipyard

There's only me travelling so don't necessarily need the bigger unit.
I plan on playing a lot of tennis so comments and suggestions about that would be very gratefully received.

Interested in the quality of the units and proximity to the beach
Travelling this weekend

Thanks
Nigel

My wife and I are avid tennis players and the 2 times we have been to Hilton Head we have played at the Shipyard location of the Van Der Meer tennis facility. We usually sign up for round robins and enjoy playing them and we also meet people and end up playing with them also. I am a 4.0 and my wife is a 3.5.

Hi Nigel - I am not a fan of Palmetto Dunes. Cottages at Shipyard is more isolated, but unless the unit is a lock off, I think you'd be happier there.

We own at Cottages. I don't think that they have 1 bedroom units. As far as I know they are all 2 or 3 bedroom town homes. We like ours very much and look forward to our annual stay there they are set in a forest around the Shipyard golf course and have everything you would end for a comfortable stay. The Shipyard beach club is about a mile away. Easy bike ride.

Have never stayed in Palmetto Dunes but have played golf there. Very nice courses. The resort has a lot of amenities contained within it. However, they are open to non guests, so that is not a big deal.

Both resorts are centrally located on the island and close to all major restaurants and activities.

I would select the Cottages for their location and quality of their villas. Enjoy your week on the island.

The weather temps on the island will be in the sixty and seventy degrees range next week.
