I have been looking at this timeshare thing for several weeks now and am ready to take the dive. I am looking for a good timeshare with RCI points or any recommendations from the TUGGERS!! I think I have a handle on this thing and really relying on my fellow TUGGERS to get me started and begin TSing. This is exciting stuff and so please send me some good TS deals on the TUG site!! I need yall to get aggressive for me and BOOM.....Vacay it is!!:whoopie:

I have two words for you - slow down

Once you get a TS, it is nearly impossible to get rid of.

Remember penny a point rule

If you are interested in RCI points don't pay more than a penny a point in management fees. To figure this out take the management fee and divide it into the number of points you receive.

If it is more than a penny a point keep looking:)

I know how you feel, once I made the decision to buy a timeshare there was no stopping me.

Is there still the 3 year trial RCI Points membership? If so, may be a low risk way to start.

I am really curious how do you do full-time timesharing for 5 years. How many weeks do you own?

To this point I would spend the extra money and buy a Marriott platinum. Yes it will cost you more but in the long run you get what you pay for and it will give you the best value for your buck IMHO. And the best thing about Marriott is if you need to get rid of it you can without much of a loss if you bought resale at a good price.

Please note that this questions was posted in April, and the OP hasn't been back to TUG since July.
