GPP doesn't have ROFR. I picked one up that was (potentially) worth 8400 HGVC pts. on EBay for $500 a few years back. Most of their units though are not a part of HGVC Points system. If it is a floating week (most are) then you could get the lower points value in HGVC if you converted it. There was a time when you could purchase a resale unit direct from GPP and convert that unit and others owned at GPP into HGVC. I don't know if that is still possible or not. I bought a 1BR worth 6200 pts from GPP direct and converted that 1BR and the 2BR I got on EBay into HGVC points.

I see they got a sucker to buy it, I like the comment about it taking a minimum of 90 to close - but you still owe 2014 dues, so good luck using your 2014 points. I wouldn't buy any ebay TS after June if it included current year usage.

Good to know that there is no ROFR at Pacific Palisades.

As for how to make sure you get HGVC point at an affiliate, the easiest is just make sure you are buying a unit that is already enrolled. At some resorts you can enroll any unit, other affiliates only some units are eligible for HGVC membership.

If your going to buy on eBuy, you have to be very careful as there are often discrepancies or misleading statements for listings.

For example, i have seen a number for listings call out HGVC Elara, but then actually be for old Westgate units with no points attached.
