I did not know this until today but the Villa Group Resort in Loreto is no longer available for premiere members unless you trade in.

Anyone know why ? I was told that this resort is not a Villa Group Resort like the others. When I told them that I have been able to reserve rooms with my membership in the past I was told that Im mistaken. I have pictures of our trip to that resort.

So Bob, if your still an owners advocate maybe you could put this issue down as a members concern.

Bill...
I've got it. I'll bring it up at the next meeting...in August I believe.
News to me to.

This sounds wrong on the surface... Did you try calling again and talking to another agent?

I'm out on a trip right now and don't have the time to dig into it...but I think a review of the bylaws might be in order. I thought Premier had access to all UVC resorts ... but with a 10 month in advance limit.

Thanks Bob. The claim was that Loreto is owned by a different corporation or club and is not subject to the UVC bylaws.

I think I have 6 or 7 years left on my contracts and have no plans to extend or upgrade these. If Loreto is not bound by the original UVC bylaws it makes sense that the other resorts may go this route too. Loreto and Cancun are not bound by the original uvc bylaws according to the website , myuvc.com , so only the Arco, Flamingos, VDP Cabo and VDP PV are bound to the original bylaws , is what it looks like to me. Cancun is still taking reservations from premiere owners. Loreto is the only resort that isn't, as of now.

When I say according to the website I mean that since 2011 there are rules and regulations in place for Loreto and Cancun that were not included in the original bylaws. The bylaws still state that premiere members have access to all new projects but it seems the people at uvc figure that by re-naming projects as other than uvc they can create new rules.

My opinion is that if any of the projects used uvc funds that included payments from premiere members, that would mean the new projects should be available to premiere members. If any of the uvc properties were used to secure financing for the new projects that would also mean that premiere members should be included. So I guess uvc should disclose were the money came from for the new resorts before they dis-allow memberships. Maybe they have, idk. It may be a class action suit with damages to premiere members, or at the very least , civil judgments in favor of premier members that shakes things up.
