Hey there,

Although we have been going to Cancun for years, we have never really bought wine down there. We would like to this time, so I am wondering if anyone knows where we can buy some good red wine (Cabernet Savignon, Merlot, Shiraz, etc.) for a reasonable price? We like wines from California, Chile, Australia, and some from Italy, depending on the wine). We are looking for bottles in the range of $10-15 USD or less.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Michelle

P.S. We will also be in Playa for a week staying at the Royal Haciendas, so if anyone knows a place in Playa as well, please let me know! :)

The South American wines are much more resonable than other imports

Every time we go there we bring special bottles of wine. Ones we keep just for the vacation to share with friends. We also bring great relatively inexpensive bottles of great wine, that u can't get in Cancun. I bring 2 and my wife brings 2.

There are not alot of options for good wine in Cancun. Don't forget if ur looking for CA wine there, it's imported wine. Best bet, bring ur own.

I like the wines from Chile or Mexico when we are there. I usually buy them at Sams or Walmart, occasionally I will grab a bottle at the resort store, sometimes they will have an inexpensive bottle.

:cheer: In Playa del Carmen -- for wine, we prefer the huge Mega Superstore over WalMart. Try the "Conchay Toro" brand, which was introduced to us in Cancun about 15 years ago. Great price for above average quality. Available in 1.5 liter bottles with several varieties.
