I own at MC but live in FL. I got a call yesterday and was told there was a rep in the area who wanted to meet with me to discuss new policies and changes with MC. I asked what they were and was told they were only setting up the appointments and the reps had that info. She said they would come to my work, home, where ever. I declined because it seems like a sales pitch. Anyone other MC owners get a call like this or know anything about it??

All that rep has to do is make the smallest of sales overtures, and they need a real estate license in Florida, and a Broker/Agency relationship. I wonder if that rep has a real estate license in Florida?

Our resort, Kings Creek Plantation in Williamsburg, did the same thing a few years ago. It was just a pitch to switch over to their points program. We declined the appointments.

Surprisingly, I'd wager a small bet that the answer is actually yes!

When various resort "upgrade" pitches take their show out off site or out of state, they often utilize (local, commissioned) third party entities whose players are indeed licensed brokers and real estate agents in the state in which they are "pitching". This practice not only saves the hiring entity travel and per diem costs for their "pitch men" but simultaneously ensures appropriate intrastate licenscure. One such specific entity that comes to mind that I have personally observed operating in Florida is called The MVPService, or something very close to that. Every single player therein is indeed active and appropriately licensed in Florida.
