Actually North MB would be OK, all the fun is in MB proper, more to south near boardwalk.

Ummm, March 7th won't see anything like that. The break weeks vary pretty widely across North America, but we were in MB this year about a week later than your dates and there were like zero crazy college students. MB is generally a bit far North of the true spring break fun, and actually lots of stuff is still closed in early March; but don't worry, there is still more to do than you can possibly get to!
