We have been owners of two Monarch Grand Vacations 111-pt bi-annual ownerships since 2000 (a total of 222 points). We love the resorts, and the points can be used at Tahoe, two resorts in Palm Springs, two resorts in Dana Shores, CA (right on the beach), Brian Head ski resort, Ramona Oaks, Cancun in Las Vegas, and Cabo San Lucas. It is NOT a timeshare, but it is deeded. It is a flexible point system that allows you to book vacations for a little as one night or a weekend or a week--whatever you want. Our ownership is completely paid for, and our association fees are up-to-date. We are willing to pay the rest of 2014 fees as well, plus all transfer/recording fees. Why are we giving this away? Because our children have grown and married and are spreading out away from our home base and these resorts. It is more difficult to get them together to get to one of these resorts for a family outing. It is an outstanding deal for you. You will receive 111 points every December 1, and they are good for two years. Depending on which nights you reserve, you can get up to ten nights a year with that many points. Association fees are $1038.96/year (paid in quarterly installments), which makes ten nights only $104 each--that's a really good deal for full-service resorts! You also get free day-use at any of the resorts, so if you're traveling through or live near one of the resorts, you can show up and use the pool, tennis courts, mountain bikes, etc. for free! To sweeten the deal, we've already booked three days in a one-bedroom suite at the Las Vegas Cancun during the CES convention in January. If you're not into CES, you can sell this stay for a pretty good sum, since most hotels are completely booked during the CES convention. (Note: Diamond Resorts now owns Monarch Grand and they've adopted a different but equivalent point system--I just don't know it as well as the original!).
