Hi All,

We will move from Europe to the WDC area in December. Our objective is to take car trips lasting from 4 days to a week, to acquaint ourselves with the area. I envisage traveling north to NY and south to SC.

What would be the best value for money TS to buy on the resale market? The option of spending a few days rather than an entire week is very attractive, if it's possible.

Many thanks in advance
Lance

Wyndham would be a good option. They have something in New York City, Atlantic City, NJ, Williamsburg, VA, Myrtle Beach, SC, and more.

And you can stay a few days at a time...

Is WDC area? Washington, DC ... usually referred to as "DC area".

If you are doing NYC, take the TRAIN - Amtrak. A car on Manhatten Island is handicap - parking expensive, cogged roads, aggressive drivers (particularly the cabbies), lots of BIG buses ... and hostile (that is beyond aggressive).

There are only a couple of NYC timeshare - all are expensive. Trading in via RCI how I get to stay in them. Be sure to NOTE the 1 in 4 rules some of them have.

Wyndham points might be GOOD for you. 3 or 4 Night bookings can be arranged in PRIME Time --- but you might be better off hooking up with a LARGE Wyndham Points owners to rent stays for less than you can book them.

WDC = Washington DC??

if so Wyndham has the only timeshares in the DC area...not that you need that, since thats where you will be living, but its nice to have a place close by for weekend getaways,

as FreeIn2010 said, Wyndham has a ton of resorts within a days drive. And their points system allows 3 and 4 day stays...perfect for weekend trips.

Many thanks for your thoughts. Yes, WDC = Washington, DC.

I am a WorldMark owner already (used to exchange for resorts in Europe) but probably it would make more sense to buy a separate Wyndham TS, or rent from a large Wyndham owner.
