I received a call from Wyndham this morning about a 761,000 point quit claim deed for Wyndham Atlantic City that has my name on along with the original owner (purchased from the developer and is VIP Gold). The quit claim deed is dated 2008, but my name was not added/transferred within Wyndham at that time. I know nothing about it, but I was buying Wyndham resell during that timeframe but not in Atlantic City. I asked the person from Wyndham who called me to have the other owner contact me and I gave them my cell phone number.

Within 2 hours the original owner (elderly lady) called me. What I got out of the conversation was that, she paid a David White $3500 to sell the timeshare for her in 2008. She received a quit claim deed with both our names on it and that’s all. She hung on to it and paid the maintenance fees all this time. She recently contacted Wyndham to get rid of it. But she can’t because my name is on the deed.

Has something like this ever happened to any of you? The original owner is willing to give it to me. Does anyone know what the maintenance fees are for Wyndham Atlantic City? What would you do? Turn it down, keep it or resell it?

If I do this I'll make sure it's has a clear title, points are available and maintenance fees are paid in full. Anything else?

Take it ... you know the value of a GOLD membership with your name on it...

I could have rented 6 times over the 3 reservations I had for AC this coming weekend... WAY fewer cheap casino rooms and it is a very short walk to the beach ... demand appears to have gone up.

No Taj, no Showboat, or Revel left in the neighborhood .... but the beach is nice and there are hotels and lots of fine places to eat... Jimmy Buffet's Margarietteville is right in front of Resorts.

If you already do rentals (I think you do) you'll want to keep it. Maintenance fees there are nooooot cheap and may be going higher; but it still has value assuming it's a single UDI deed. If you have any additional questions or have an interest in liquidating it, please PM me.

I inherited Platinum VIP from my parents so doing a work around to keep it Gold doesn't do me any good, but it's big points. If I keep it, it will only cost me a new/clean deed and a transfer fee. I need to talk it over with my wife and see what she thinks about keeping it or not.

Taj is still open, but your point is still valid. I have stayed there many times. We have spent the last 10 Thanksgivings there with family. It is a nice resort (except for the slow elevators, which cannot be fixed). the staff is very friendly and helpful. (they man the elevators during checkin to offset the speed issue)

The fees are very high there.

Last december I got notice of a deed being in my name but was not fully transferred. The back fees were too high to justify keeping it. It was from a purchase gone bad that I was refunded the money from.
