With the new DRI conversion of MGV pts to DRI pts this will be 14,640 DRI pts /24 months
This is enough for 2 weeks of vacation and I will pay the closing fees!!
So for free, you'll get points worth 2 weeks of vacations at 9 great resorts in the California area.
The number of points you would use vary per resort, time of the week & time of the year. What’s nice about the point-system is that you don’t have to go for a full week. Sometimes we would go to a resort for a couple of days. Just to give you an idea, here are some examples of the points for a week stay. The resorts allow you to make reservations of 6 days or more at 12 months. Shorter stay reservations can be made at 4 months (I think)

MGV has been purchased by DRI (Diamond Resort International) BUT there are no changes in your usage is allowed by HOA rules. Therefore if you get this you will have basically 2 weeks at these resorts every 24 months.
