Just an FYI...
I had a request for a week in Spring 2017 since the beginning of the year which was fulfilled late last night. I had to refuse it since I recently made alternative travel arrangements for the same time.
On the phone with II this morning I was told that it had exceeded 24 hours since the exchange, and the rep needed to get assistance canceling it. However, it was almost exactly 12 hours since I received the email. I'm not really surprised that II would have such a consumer unfriendly policy of not informing customers exactly when the 24 hour period starts, and then make it seem like they're doing us a favor when they cancel it (even though they think they technically don't need to). It's not difficult to send an email, so I think we can add this to the list of sub-standard system architecture decisions they made with their reservation and web systems.
Anyway, the rep canceled the week and reset the request for an alternative date.
