We love Hilton Head. I am thinking of buying a Waterside by Spinnaker floating week.

I was wondering how hard it is to reserve a week 25 through 29 there? is it like Marriott get your atomic clock set and even then you need a lot of luck?

I own through Spinnaker Flexible ownership (SFO) so it might be a little different then a waterside float week. My experience has been if you request right at the one year mark it shouldn't be a problem. With the SFO, they do have a rule that you can't pick the same week 2 years in a row so if you pick week 28 this year, you can select 26, 27 or 29 but not 28 the following year. You do have to pre-pay the MF's and submit request in writing- email or online form. It is not in real time but I was notified within 24 hours that my first choice was available.

When purchasing Waterside resale you do have to pay $1500 for annual and $750 for biennial which goes toward future MF's.

Also SFO's only exchange with II and Spinnaker picks the week to deposit and it won't be 25-32. Fixed weeks deposit with RCI. I am not sure with straight floating weeks but I doubt they would allow you to deposit a July week with either II or RCI.

hard to get because most of the ownership weeks there are fixed, and the inventory for floating summer weeks is miniscule..... don't let anyone fool you, it's extremely hard. It's not a huge resort.

Here are some posts from 2012. The week I bought was deeded 32 so I knew there was at least a week 32 in the pool. I think a fixed July week would be best because you wouldn't have to worry about calling and reserving and you can deposit it directly without having to worry that they won't give you a good week but by limiting the floating week summer deposits it does seem to make it easier to reserve those weeks.
