Can I 3rd that suggestion?
... but tons ....and 'secret' beaches for walking.
Good luck
Here are some reasons why I don't think you should go to Kauai:
The roads are terrible:
It rains too much:
It's too Jurrasic:
And worst of all, it's too dangerous.
I'm sure you'd like Maui, Oahu, or the Big Island much more than Kauai.

Secret beach is one of our favorites on Kauai, but I don't think its very secret anymore!
And you forgot, way too much work required to get to the beaches!

I guess we should tell people to 'go away' so there is more Kauai left for us. I knew Kauai was right for me when I found myself leaning on my jeep in Koloa, eating the world's finest poke from a Styrofoam container and then driving down a road--that eats cars for lunch--to a beautiful and peaceful NATURAL beach. Wonderful.
Of course, even places like Lumaha'i beach (famous from South Pacific Movie) can be dangerous.... you must respect Mother Nature.
Better than getting run-over by a tourist or bus in Waikiki though.
I would still welcome new visitors with aloha, but I just hope Kauai can remain charming and laid back. Is this the beach where you went for lunch at the end of the car eating road?
